Greetings again fellow Turf writers, no it is not time for another newsletter already, just the matter of clearing up some things. There was one correction and one omission from the July 20 newsletter.

First, the Eclipse Awards dinner at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California will be on Monday, January 22 and not on January 29.

Second, the National Turf Writers Association/Youbet.com Journalism Scholarship recipient was selected and announced recently.

The scholarship, which provides up to $10,000 per year to a student with a major or minor in journalism, was awarded to Jennifer MacDonald of Sierra Madre, California. MacDonald is the daughter of a former trainer and an HRTV graphics operator and will be studying journalism at California State University at Chico this fall.
