BECOME A TURF WRITER

Approximately 225 members strong, the NTWA is the largest professional journalistic organization in horse racing. Membership is open to any individual who writes regularly on Thoroughbred racing or is a published handicapper.

Prospective members must submit a letter outlining their qualifications (including affiliation, years with affiliation, and years covering racing), in addition to two letters of support from current NTWA members. Samples of the applicant’s work are helpful as well.

New members are considered twice annually, with opportunities at our Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup meetings. Please submit your application for membership well in advance of either of these events to the NTWA Secretary/Treasurer Jill Williams.
